Funeral services for Mrs. Dorcas Knotts Gleaton will be held this morning at 11 o'clock from Rosewood Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. W. L. Faircloth, the Rev. Byrd N. Sexton Jr., and the Rev. J. B. Caston. Interment will be in the Jones Knott family cemetery in Springfield. Mrs. Gleaton, 88, of 232 S. Walker St., died Sunday in the Baptist hospital. She was born in Orangeburg County, a daughter of the late Sarah Williamson Knotts and Joel Knotts. She had made her home in Columbia for 35 years, and was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Pearl G. Derrick, Columbia, Mrs. Esther G. Phillips, Springfield, Mrs. Fanny G. Hiers, Columbia, an Mrs. Florrie G. Spiers of Cayce; two sons, Joel B. Gleaton, Columbia and Grier Gleaton of Baltimore, Md.; 27 grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Frank Cunningham, Leon Doar, A. R. Mattox, Jack Von Schaaf, D. F. McManus and Gordon Tilley. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Board of Deacons of Rosewood Baptist Church, members of Victory Bible Class of Rosewood Baptist Church, Frank Bell, C. E. Hotinger, Dr. W. O. Tanner, B. L. Reynolds, U. M. Dodgens, O. J. Gleaton, T. M. Parkman, Eley S. Raybon, William S. Harmon, W. W. Harmon, A. Hart Kohn, Sr., the Rev. Luther Shealy, Harold H. Adams. Friends may call at the residence.
