Buried next to Kate F Clarke
------------
Major W. T. Clark died suddenly and unexpectedly at his lakeside cottage at Okoboji last Saturday. Conversing with his wife as usual, he just ceased talking because the heart refused further service, and was dead.
Major Clarke has been a regular summer visitor for a number of years and his death is deeply deplored about the lakes. In accordance with a desire of the deceased incidentally expressed some time since, the remains were laid in Okoboji Cemetery. To Major Clarke the Register pays this tribute:
Major Clarke was one of Des Moines best known and most beloved citizens. He occupied a high position in the insurance business of Iowa. His family is one of the most respected and popular. It consists of a wife and two young men, Clinton and Thomas, who have many friends among our best people. Their father's death was sudden and on that account the more distressing.
