Shoffner, 87, of Kokomo, Indiana, died peacefully in her sleep on December 17, 2019, at Waterford Place Health Campus in Kokomo, with her beloved son, James J. Shoffner by her side. She was born on December 22, 1931 in Kokomo to the late Harley and Bessie Rosa. Joan was married for 60 years to James Paris Shoffner, and he preceded her in passing on April 14, 1993. Joan spent her career as a homemaker, and loved taking annual vacations with her family to Daytona Beach, Florida. She also loved to watch her Cubs, and she was a remarkable cook. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family, especially over the holidays. Bingo and word search games were also activities that Joan enjoyed. Most important to Joan was the time that she spent with her family, and she will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. Joan is survived by her children, Diana (Lloyd) Donnell and James (Mona) Shoffner; sister, Betty Burns; grandchildren, Jennifer Donnell, Christopher (Laura) Donnell, Lindsay (David) Shoffner-Vonderahe, and James J. (Bethany) Shoffner Jr.; great grandchildren, Andrew Goins, Jared Goins, Hunter Vonderahe, Laila Vonderahe, Olivia Vonderahe, Nolan Donnell, Aubree Shoffner, and Jameson Shoffner; great great grandson, AJ Goins; and her special friend and roommate at Waterford, Janice Beasley. In addition to her parents and husband, Joan was preceded in passing by two grandchildren, Tracey Lynn Donnell and Stacey Jo Donnell; brothers, Jack Rosa and Junior Rosa; and sisters, Sandy Butler, Pat Kail, Carol Bishop, and Ruth Huffman. There will be a visitation for Joan held at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home on Friday, December 20th from 4-7, followed immediately by a funeral service. Joan will be laid to rest at a later date at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
