Hale, pub 1889. David's descent is; David 7 Hale, David 6, Joseph 5, Edmund 4, Henry 3, John 2, Thomas 1. R.S. Hale says David's father (David 6) was born in Atkinson, NH., which agrees with the gravestone , and that his grandfather Joseph was born in Newbury, MA, in 1728/29, and died in Alstead in 1814.
