Colin Russell died in an accident on September 7, 2005 at his home in Tacoma. He was born in Seattle, WA and lived in Longview, WA from age 4 to 7 before moving to Tacoma. He was a student in the Highly Capable program at Mason Middle School where he had just entered the eighth grade. Colin treasured life and packed his thirteen years with countless experiences and friendships. Among his many passions were soccer, snowboarding, skateboarding and surfing. He was an avid reader, loved to travel, and played classical cello and acoustic and electric guitar when he wasn't just hanging out with family and friends or his pets Midnight, Teeko, Domino and Rascal. He had attended summer camp at Camp Seymour for years with his best friend, Kevin, and hoped to become a counselor there. His vision for his life also included college, travel, learning to scuba dive, volunteer work, and maintaining life-long relationships with his many friends here.

Colin is survived by his parents, Michael and Patricia Russell, 10 year old Sister Molly Russell, Jenn Welch, Half-Sister Kirsten Kirk and her family, Grandparents Mel and Del Russell, Grandmother Mary Ann Hagen, Aunt Pat Russell and Great-Aunt Ann Hagen and Uncle Steve Hagen.

Visitation for Colin will be held from 9:00 AM-9:00 PM at Mountain View Memorial Park, Tuesday, 9/13/05 through Friday, 9/16/05. A small funeral service for family will be held there on Saturday, 9/17/05 at 12:30. A memorial and celebration of Colin's life will follow at 3:00 PM in the gymnasium at St. Patrick's Church School, 1112 North G Street, Tacoma, WA.
