Funeral rites were held at 1:30 p. m. today at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Nicholson, Route 2 Richton, for their son, Luther L. Nicholson. Interment followed in Brown's cemetery with military rites at the grave, conducted by a group of soldiers from Camp Shelby. Mr. Nicholson was a marine with B. T. R. X., Fourth Defense Battalion, Parris Island, S. C. He was 27 years old and died following an accident on June 15 at Parris Island. His body arrived In RIchton late Friday from Parris Island, accompanied accompanied by his brother, J. W. Nicholson of Philadelphia, Penn. Survivors Include his parents; five brothers, M. L. Nicholson, Marine Corps, Argentina, Newfoundland; J. P. Nicholson, Chanute Field, Rantoul, Ill., Army Air Corps; J. W. Nicholson, 1810 South Broad street, Philadelphia, Penn., Marine Quartermaster; Horace H. and Owen Nicholson, Route 2 Richton; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Strickland, Laurel, Selma and Mary Joe Nicholson, Route 2, RIchton. Davis and Jones Funeral home of RIchton was In charge of final arrangements.
