Mr. Klutz was born May 16, 1923 in Cabarrus County and was the son of the late Walter and Mabel Hagler Klutz. He retired from Barnhardt Manufacturing of Charlotte. He was a US Army Veteran serving during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Mae Baker Klutz. Mr. Klutz moved to Oak Island in 1988.
He is survived by his son, Terry Klutz and wife Frances of Oak Island; his daughter, Nancy Squires and husband Danny of South Carolina; a brother, Robert Klutz of Charlotte; two sisters, Janie Porter of Georgia, Ruth Bost of Concord; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday February 16th, 2010 at 2pm at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte, NC with Pastor Fred Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 Monday evening at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Service, 1411 N. Howe St., Southport
