A veteran of WWI, Charles E. Bowman, 60, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday at his home, 102 Vance Lane. Although he had been ill, his death was unexpeted, it was reported.

A laborer at the Western Brick Co, Mr. B. was born in Fountain Co IN, Nov 9, 1885, a son of Jacob & Katherine WIlkerson Bowman. Surviving with the widow, Anna, are 5 brothers, Elliott of Veedersburg, William, Roy, and Pearly of Wallace; and Glen of Attica; and one sister, Mrs. Edna Gott of Cropsey, Ill.

The body was removed to the Johnson Funeral Home & will be returned to the residence Tuesday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wed. at the residence. Coroner John D. Coe said Monday that an inquiry into the death will probably be held.
