Esther Dillon Doane's date and place of birth are unknown. As of November 2023, no records have been found to verify when or where she was born. Her date of death and burial are also unknown. The Doan Family Book (Pg. 81) reports that Esther and Israel married out of unity with the Quaker Friends in 1724. Israel was disowned by the Quakers at Middletown Meeting. However, Israel attended the Plumstead Meeting with his children who were accepted there as Quakers. The book also reports that Esther is not included in her husband Israel Doane's Last Will and Testament dated 25 December 1787. Thus inferring she is deceased when Israel published his Will.
Lastly, the book reports her family name probably was Dillon. Some researchers believe she is a daughter of Mary and Nicholas Dillon.
