Age 81 of Maxwell Rd., Bliss, died at home following a brief illness. He was born in Warsaw, son of the late George and Luella Schrader Crane. He was a graduate of Warsaw High School Class of 1943 and was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. He owned and operated his own dairy farm on Maxwell Rd. from 1949 until his retirement in 1988. Member of the Wyoming County Republican Committee and was a longtime chairman of the Town of Wethersfield Republican Committee; Town of Wethersfield Assessor for 40 years and was a voting machine inspector for many years. Member of the Walter Klein Post #532 American Legion in Warsaw, Bliss American Legion Post #1720 and the 40 & 8 Voiture #761. The 40 & 8 refers to a railroad car during WWII which could hold either 40 men or 8 horses. He was active in many church and community activities. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jean V. Crane in 1988. Surviving are his wife Dolly Crane; his children, Adeline V. (Roger) Davis of Machias, Frederick J. (Cris) Crane of Bliss, Daniel G. (Fran) Crane of Allenspark, CO, Suzanne J. Buck of Delevan, Jenny L. (Bob) Friedrich of Hamlin; his sisters Betty (Joseph) Samsel of Warsaw, Esther (Paul) Herman of Perry, Ramona (Bob) Younger of Canandaigua and family of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robinson & Hackemer Funeral Home handled arrangements.
