He lived in Hagers Grove for over 22 years and farmed for a number of years. When in 1936 his doctor recommended that he move to a higher, dryer climate he took his wife and small son, Owen, and moved to Colorado and then on to Bellingham, Washington. There he learned to weld in the shipyards. They lived in Washington for 10 years and then moved to Fresno, California where he continued working as a welder. He was a welder for Ranchers Cotton Oil for 20 years and retired in 1966.
Mr. Glahn was converted while a youngster in the Hagers Grove Christian Church and has continued in the faith, being an elder of the Eastside Christian Church in Fresno at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche (Fuller) Glahn, the daughter of the former John and Amelia (Zollman) Fuller of Clarence, Missouri. His son, Owen Lee Glahn and wife Peggy (Blanchard) Glahn of Clovis, California, two grandsons, Mark C. Glahn, an attorney from the Los Angeles area, and Ronald B. Glahn, a computer programmer from the Fresno/Clovis area also survive him. His entire family has preceded him in death leaving only a niece, Brenda Lee (Glahn) Young and a nephew Daniel M. Glahn and their families.
