"Herbert G. Renkenberger, 74, died in his sleep early Thursday morning at his home, 66 Lisbon street, Canfield. He had been ill for eight months. Born in Berlin Center, Dec. 22, 1885, he was a son of Jesse and Catherine Fries Renkenberger and had resided in the Canfield area for 34 years. A carpenter – contractor, he had been employed as a supervisor by the Mahoning Valley Construction Co. for twenty years. He was a member of the Canfield Christian church. Mr. Renkenberger was twice married. His first wife, the former Harriett McCartney of Canfield, whom he married in 1909, died 1917. To this union two sons were born, Forrest of Canfield and Gerald of Salem. On January 21, 1929, he married the former Lilly Welch McCartney of Canfield, who survives. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Charles Alverson of Canfield; a step-daughter, Mrs. Joseph Greasel of Canfield, and a step-son, Herbert McCartney of Diamond; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ira Cool of Canfield and Mrs. Charles Walker of Hubbard; and a brother, Clyde Renkenberger of Lakemore, Ohio. Funeral services, with the Rev. Garth Maynard officiating, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in the Canfield Christian church, and burial made in the Canfield cemetery. The family will meet friends at the Williams Funeral Home Friday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock."
