Regarding his name: Wesley was born James Wesley Redfearn; however, it was told by his daughter Columbia that he changed his name to Wesley James Redfearn; with nickname of Weck.

Father: Berry Nimrod Redfearn b. 16 Jan 1821 d. 16 Oct 1884; the son of Nimrod and Sarah (Huntley) Redfearn.
Mother: Martha Barrett b. 27 Mar 1823 d. 1851; the daughter of Dominic Barrett.

On 12 Dec 1868, Wesley Redfearn married Susannah Hale Jackson the daughter of Colonel Stephen and Roxanna (Timmons) Jackson. Susannah was b. 04 Dec 1846 near Mt. Croghan, SC and d. 17 July 1888.

It has been written that Wesley and Susannah moved to East Texas , near Mt. Pleasant, Titus County Texas. Her health declined after a few years; Wesley took her back to Mt. Croghan to be near her father, they lived there until her death. Susannah is buried at Elizabeth Baptist Church near Mt. Croghan. Then in March of 1898 Wesley and the children returned to Texas and settled in Canyon, Texas.
