EVERETT L. YOUNG

Everett Lovelace Young, 89, of New Florence, died Saturday, December 28, 1991, at the New Florence Nursing and Care Center in New Florence.
Mr. Young was born January 12, 1902 at Bluffton. He was a son of the late Ernest Joseph and Wilma Adelia Ferrier Young. He was married July 4, 1925, to Edna Lee Franklin who preceded him in death on October 17, 1981. He lived his entire life in the New Florence area and was retired from working at a local saw and stave mill.
Mr. Young is survived by eight children, Jean Roe, Mary Lee Douglas, and Martha Colver, all of Mexico, Missouri, Donald D. Young and his wife, Eleanor, of Jacksonville, Florida, Jesse Young and his wife Alice of Montgomery City, Edward Young and his wife Sylvia of Wellsville, Lana Pointer of Hermann, and David Young of New Florence. Other survivors include a sister, Margie Myers of Garden City, California; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna; two grandchildren; a brother, Floyd Young; and two sisters, Myrtle Council and Gladys Penn.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, at the Schlanker Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Harrelson officiated and interment was in the New Florence Cemetery.
