Lana was born near Danville, Missouri on October 5, 1944, the daughter of the late Everett and Edna (Franklin) Young. She graduated from Montgomery R-2 High School in 1962.
She was the widow of Kenneth Pointer. They were married March 5, 1966 at New Florence, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1978.
Lana enjoyed to bowl and was on a league for many years. She owned and rode a motorcycle for over 20 years and also a jet speed boat. She loved driving her older classic vehicles. She loved her family, friends and all animals and she liked to spend time outdoors in the summer.
She worked for Pretium Plastics and retired from there in 2012 after 26 years. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2013. Jim Alexander, a good friend stayed with her to help out.
Lana is survived by a son Kenny R. Pointer, Jr. & companion Donna Massey of Hermann, her brothers Donald Young & wife Eleanor of Jacksonville, Florida, and Jesse & Eddie Young both of Montgomery City, Missouri, her sisters Martha Berry of Oklahoma, Jean Roe of Moberly, Missouri, sisters-in-law Donnia Wright & husband Bob of Hermann, Vi Pointer of Hermann, and Wanda Percy of Bridgeton, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her in-laws Ervin & Hattie Willimann, a sister Mary Lea Douglas, a brother David Young, sister-in-law Alice Young, brothers-in-law Eldon Roe, Don Pointer and Doyle Percy.
