Louise A. Olsen, 83, of Longview, died Jan. 16, 2001 at the Hospice Care Center.
She was born June 24, 1917, in Tillamook County, OR, to Robert Best and Agnes Anna (Simmons) Lyster and moved to the local area more than fifty years ago from Long Beach.
Mrs. Olsen owned and operated the Ocean Beach Stage Lines with her husband, Howard R. Olsen, working as the bookkeeper and office manager. She was a member of the Longview Community Church, Tillamook Pioneers, Cowlitz Caravan and Cowlitz Senior Travel Club. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, traveling, picnics, sewing and needlework.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971; a brother Robert C. Lyster in 1967; and a sister, Marjorie Rawls in 1960.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Olsen of Edmonds, Wash; two daughters, Sandra Olsen of Edmonds and Shirley Van Duzer of Lynnwood, Wash; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday at the Longview Community Church with the Rev. Harlan Gilliland officiating. Interment will take place at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens. Friends may pay their respects from 10am to 6pm Friday at Columbia Funeral Service.
