August Brown
August Brown died Monday, August 10 at 8:30 p.m. at his home, 8th Street at the age of 77 years.
Mr. Brown was born Feb. 21, 1859 in Germany, and came to this country at the age of six. For a time he lived in New Your state and from there he came to Dunn county where he operated a farm in the town of Red Cedar. Thirteen years ago he retired, moving to his home on Eighth Street where he lived at the time of his death.
He was married Jan. 13, 1886 to Miss Amelia Krueger who survives him. To this union eight children were born: Mrs. WM. Grimme, Mrs. E. Reinholtz, Willow City, N.D., Mrs. Adolph Brunn, Mrs. Walter Nehring, Garden City, N.D., Mrs. Jim Berger, Ashland; Mrs. Velda Booker, Edward, Red Cedar and Alfred at home.
Mr. Brown leaves to mourn his loss; his wife, eight children, 23 grandchildren, two brothers, Louis , of this city, and Herman of Cloquet, Minn., and two sisters, Mrs. Aug. Kriessel of Rhinelander and Mrs. John Ziehl of Cloquet, Minn. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1:45 p.m. at the home and 2:00 at the Frieden's Lutheran Church, the Rev. J. M. Woerth officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
