He was a very active, thrifty farmer, and by economy and industry he acquired a good property. He was killed in the spring of 1867, while falling a tree in the woods, at the age of 80. He was capable of doing a day's work at this advanced age. He was a quiet, domestic man, and a good citizen, and retained his mental, as well as physical ability to the last. His wife died in 18__. His family consists of three boys and two girls: Stephen, m. Mary Wilder; Nelson; Joel; Elsie and Huldah."
