Aleen received her elementary education in Afton and her high school education in Blackfoot. She attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics and went on to earn her master's degree in Adult Education at Columbia University in New York.
Aleen worked as a county home demonstration agent in Big Horn County, Platte county and Niobrara County and taught home economics in Sugar City Idaho, Manderson Hyattville High School and Basin High School.
She married Sam Hartman on Feb 9, 1952 in Greeley Colo. To this union was born one daughter, Debbie, on Jan 28, 1955.
Aleen was preceded in death by her parents, husband and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Mike) Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Sept 22, 2004 in Basin. Burial took place at the Mount View cemetery in Basin.
