Fines Dant, was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Elba to the late Barney and Mary Fenwick Dant. Fines had retired from the former Charles Chips Factory in Calhoun and V.E. Anderson's of Owensboro. He was a member of the St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun, served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 696 of Owensboro.

Private 1st Class Fines A. Dant was a Medical Aidman with the 318th Infantry in the 80th Infantry Division in the ETO for 22 months.

Departure from USA: 14 Mar 1944
Destination: ETO (European Theater Operation)

Note: There is a memorial stone for his daughter Margaret Ann Dant placed next to Fines Dants stone. Margaret Ann is buried at St. Alphonsus, exact location records have been lost. Family placed the stone for her with her Dad.
