The death of Mrs. Anna Verteen of 816 W Main, Pipestone, occurred on Tuesday, April 24, at the local hospital, where she had been a patient for four weeks. Funeral services were held this Thrusday afternoon at two o'clock at St Paul's Lutheran church with Rev. C Langhana in charge. Mrs. Erwin Greve and Mrs. Walther Drewes were the vocalists and Egun Banke the organist. the burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery and the follwing acted as bearers: George reitmeier, John Kappleman, William Voss, Herman Ludoph, Jack Behrends and Art Bauek. The Walz and Geise Funeral Chape was in charge of arrangements.
Ann hesebeck was born on August 30, 1872 at Reedsburg; Wisconsin. She united in marriage with Henry Vertheen on October 24, 1890 in Ocheyedan, Iowa. The couple moved to Pipestone County in 1900 and farmed until 1926, when they moved to this city to make their home.
The death of Mr. Vertheen occurred on February 21, 1930. the deceased was baptised on September 15, 1872, in St. Peters church at Reedsburg, and confirmed on April 17, 1887 at the Evangelical Lutheran church in O'Brien County, Iowa.
She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Walter Lettow (Bertha), Pipestone; Mrs. Ed Metsick (Luvera); Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs. Harry Rusche (Dorthea), Luverne, Minn., Mrs. Stacey Heater (Fredia), Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs. Merle Buelow (Edna), International Falls, Minn., one son Ted, Eagel Bend, Minn., one sister, Mrs. Minnie Saienga, Melvin, Iowa, 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter, 3 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 greatgranddaughter.
