Ada Golda Winward Gibson, 88, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 1990 in an Ogden Care Center. A special thank you for the loving care given our mother and grandmother while at Crestwood Care Center.


She was born April 16, 1902 in South Jordan, Utah, a daughter of Samuel Eli and Ada Elizabeth Neeley Winward.


She married Leland Wallace Gibson on September 29, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He passed away on March 29, 1972.


She had lived in Salt Lake City and North Ogden. She had been active in the LDS Church. Her callings included YWMIA president and teacher, visiting teacher, Primary teacher, Sunday School secretary, and Sunday School teacher at the Utah State Industrial School. She was active in genealogy and Temple work and served two stake missions.


She retired from Defense Depot, Ogden, where she was a security guard during World War II and a coding clerk.


Surviving: One son, one daughter, Ronald N. and Janet Gibson, Roy; Mrs. Roy (Charlotte) Worthen, North Ogden; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Aretta O. Winward, Salt Lake City; and Hazel B. Gibson, North Ogden. Preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, one sister, and three brothers.


Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Boulevard, where friends may call on Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
Interment: Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.
