Sylvester Charles Bonar, 81, of Blue Rock, Waynesboro, Route 1, died at 5:15 p. m. Tuesday at his home. He has 117 direct descendants. He had been in ill health the last three years and critically ill and confined to his bed the past three months.
Mr. Bonar was born at Blue Rock, the son of Uriah and Margaret (Welsh) Bonar and lived practically his entire life in that section. He was a member of the Blue Rock U. B. Church.
For 30 years he was employed at Frick Company as fireman. Surviving are his wife, Melinda Kauffman Bonar: these children: Mrs. Percy Stoops, Cloyd, Mrs. Harry Stauffer, Melvin, and Mrs. Clayton Cole, all of Waynesboro, Route 1; 47 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was the last of his
family.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p m. Friday from the Grove Funeral Home In charge of the Rev. N. W. Brechbiel. Burial will be made in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 until 9 p m. Thursday at the funeral home.
