Fred W. Dieter, 70, longtime resident of Young County died at his home, 708 W. Main Street, after a long illness.

Services were held at St. Luke's Lutheran Church with Rev. R.M. Brandt, pastor, officiating.

Dieter's parents came from Germany to the United States. He came to Young County in 1890 to farm. He retired a few years ago. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survived by two sons - Fritz W. Dieter of Olney, Adolph J. Dieter of Vancouver, WA; five daughters - Mrs. W.W. Martin of Abilene, Mrs. Dollie Griffin of Fort Worth, Mrs. L.G. Robbins of Portland, OR, Mrs. Anna Diggs and Mrs. Fred Murphree, both of Olney; four sisters - Miss Maggie Dieter and Mrs. Josie Taack, both of Plainview; Mrs. Frank Schuster of Laverne, OK, Mrs. Kate Schuster of Graham; one brother - George Dieter of Plainview.

Fred Dieter married Hannah Kunkel on 4 December 1901 in Archer County, Texas.
