Sophronia married Edmund Green Escue Nov 27, 1859 in Lick Creek, Union Co, IL. She was born Apr 22, 1836 in Monroe Co, TN and died Dec 5, 1917.

She died of the influenza during the epidemic. Her sister, Elibazeth Ellen (Coleman) Treece, came to be with her and she died two days after Sophronia. The weather was so bad, the roads were impassable. The ground was frozen, so only one grave was dug for the two of them. They were buried one atop the other.
