Elizabeth Ellen Aka Betty Coleman, daughter of Marshall P Coleman & Ruth (Raulston) Coleman, married Daniel Boone Treece on Aug 1, 1861 Johnson Co, IL. He died in the Civil War on Nov 6, 1864 in Kingston, GA. Burial place unknown.
He was the son of Daniel Treece & Margaret (Graham) Treece.

They had 1 or 2 known children:
1. Alice Feb 9, 1862 (Is this a twin or just messed up name?)
2. Alwida B Aka Alda Feb 9, 1862 (Marshall Coleman Jones) cousins

Betty came to be with her sister Sophronia Escue in her last illness in the flu epidemic, and also died 2 days later of the same thing.

The roads were impassable, the ground was frozen, so they dug only one grave for the two of them. They were buried one atop the other. She is not listed in the cemetery books that I have found, but she is there. Her obit appeared in the MO newspaper, commenting on it.

RETURNS FROM SAD VISIT TO OLD HOME
H. M. Escue returned Wednesday from Goreville, ILL, where he went to be with his mother during her last illness. His mother died Wednesday, December 5th, at the ripe old age of 82 years. She had been ill for a long while, and tho her death was unexpected, it came as a blow to the family. Mrs. Escue's sister, Mrs. Bettie Treece, living at Carbondale, ILL, who came to be at the sick bed of her sister, was taken ill and died Friday. There were both buried in the same grave on Monday, the conditions of the road preventing interment until that day. Mr. Escue's father is also very ill, but when he left he was somewhat improved, but is very feeble. Mr. Escue started back to his father's Thursday. A host of friends here extend their sympathy to the stricken family.
