Sophia Skinner was born circa 1789.

She married Mr. Phineas Doolittle circa 1814 in Windsor, Broome Co, NY, the son of Abel Doolittle and Deborah Fancher.

Phineas and Sophia had nine children: Orrin, Louisa, Clarissa, Laura, Melona, Alvira, David, Henry and Abel Hamilton.

Some time around 1811 Phineas bought a tract of land on the Binghamton Road about one and a half miles west of Windsor. There is a falls in the Occanum Creek that flows through the area and Phineas had a saw mill there as early as 1815. The family ran a sawmill on the creek until the mill was washed out by a flood in the summer of 1893.

Sophia died on 23 Mar 1848 in Windsor, Broome Co, NY.
