She then went on to the University of Alabama and recieved her diploma and teaching degree. She was a dedicated elementary school teacher for over 40 years. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Winfield, Alabama.
Her love of life and family and friends is an inspiration to me. Odene knew more about Winfield and Marion County, Alabama than any other person I have known. She traveled all around the world, but always knew she belonged in Winfield, Alabama.
She was only in my life a short time, but she touched my soul. She is dearly missed.
