MRS. ELPHIA GOODMAN, 85 of Huntington, W.Va., widow of Forrest Edward Goodman, passed away Sunday May 20, 2007 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday May 23, 2007 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Dr. Neil Hoppe and Rev. Mike Tabor officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Huntington. She was born January 26, 1922 in Wayne County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Peter and Drusie Walker Selbee. She was a homemaker. Others preceding her in death were twin infant sons, Larry Roger and Leland Rodney Goodman. She was a long time member of 20th Street Baptist Church and a member of 18th Street Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, with whom she made her home, Anita and Kenneth Welker; three grandchildren and their spouses, Mark and Angela Gibson, Michael and Andrea Gibson, and Kris and Misty Gibson, all of Huntington, and nine great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Misty Dawn, Makayla Dianne Gibson, Hunter Gilkerson, Brittany and Mark Benjamin Gibson, Austin, Abigail and Alexis Gibson. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Huntington and especially Hospice Nurse Chastity Sharp for their love and devotion.
