Edith Elliott married Wilbur Ramsden Peterson at Elliotts Corner Mariposa County California on the evening of May 9, 1931. Her bridesmaid was Genevieve Marre and the best man was Alvin Fesler. The wedding took place in the big two story house her father, Charles Monroe Elliott, had built at the corner. The bridal march was played on the large pump organ in the living room by Harriet Rydquist who was best friend of the bride's sister, Jessie (Elliott) Hilton. "I Love You Truly" was sung by the bride's brother-in-law, James Hilton. Supper was served under the trees out in the yard. Covers were laid for sixty guests. Friends celebrated the occasion with sky rockets and flares. The bride attended grammer school at the Chowchilla School about a quarter of a mile below her home and graduated valedictorian of her class from Mariposa County Highschool. Wilbur and Edith had four children and lived most of their married life on Wilbur's Way off the old highway.
