He was retired law enforcement officer and World War II Navy veteran. He retired in 1976 and was Chief of Police with the Pageland Police Department, a patrol commander and a Lieutenant in Detective Division of the Lancaster Police Department.
He taught law enforcement of S. C. ETV.
He was a member of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer's Association and a member, former deacon and Sunday School teacher of Catawba Baptist Church
Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Hank (Margaret) Rohrig of Rock Hill, Mrs. Wendell (Barbara) Ferguson of Lancaster and Mrs. R. L. (Darlene) Hopkins of Jefferson; and a brother, Tola L. Hinson of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Services will be held at 4 p. m. Saturday at Catawba Baptist Church, with burial in Lancaster Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. today at Mahaffey Funeral Home.
