Mrs. Gertrude I. Shackelford

ALGER - Mrs. Gertrude Idonia Shackelford, 76, Alger, died at 4:20 p.m. Friday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Rolston, Munith, Mich. She had been in ill health 10 weeks.

Born July 2, 1875, she was a lifelong resident of the Alger area. She was married to L. J. Shackleford, who died in 1936. She was a member of the Central Methodist Church, Alger.

In addition to Mrs. Rolston, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Glenn Myers, Stockbridge, Mich.; two sons, Waldon S., Route 4, and Done, Stockbridge, Mich.; two brothers, Ottis Newland, Alger and Elzia, St. Johns; a sister, Mrs. Walter Vorhees, East Sparta; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Central Methodist church with the Rev. Gerald Earter officiating. Burial will be in Preston cemetery. The body will be removed from the Hanson funeral home to the residence at 8 p.m. Saturday.
