George William Mosher. His loving and generous heart gave out and he had to leave us Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at the age of 80.
Memorial service: 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Laurel Land Memorial Chapel, followed by a graveside military tribute in Laurel Land Memorial Park Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
George was born April 8, 1929, in the Bronx, N.Y. He joined the Air Force in 1950, met and married his life's love, Bernadine Walls, while stationed at Carswell AFB. For 20 years he served his country proudly, from Maine to Vietnam, finally settling in Fort Worth. George retired from the service in 1970 and began a second career as a technical writer and draftsman retiring from Cage Inc. in '92. During this second career, he graduated from TCU in '78.
George was a lifelong athlete. He was a left-handed fastball pitcher and discovered marathon running later in life. He ran and completed numerous marathons, including Boston, New York City, Washington D.C., Chicago, San Francisco, White Rock Lake and Cowtown. His other favorite hobbies were stamp collecting and genealogy.
Survivors: Wife and partner for 59 years, Bernadine; children, Pamela Sorrells, George M. Mosher, Mark A. Mosher and Marybeth Pacheco; grandchildren, Angela Dryfhout, Malorie French, Maxwell French, Lucas Mosher, Emily Mosher and Carolyn Mosher; great-grandchild, Weston Dryfhout; and siblings, John Davis and Jerry Davis of South Carolina.
