MRS. MATIE ROCKWELL BAILEY, aged 87, a former resident of Bailey's Corners, Granville Township died Saturday, Mar. 14, 1964 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Williams in Sherwood Village, Bloomsburg. Mrs. Bailey was born June 25, 1877 in Franklin Township, the daughter of Sylvester and Wealtha V. Rockwell and in 1899 she married John W. Bailey. They resided at Bailey's Corners until his death in 1940. She was a member of the Bailey's Corners Baptist Church for more than 60 years and an active worker in the Ladies Aid Society and Friendly Circle Class. She was a member of the Granville Center Grange for 57 years and served as its secretary for more than a quarter of a century. She was also a charter member of Golden Rod Rebekah Lodge at Granville and was a past noble grand. In addition to the daughter, Mrs. Louise Williams at whose home she resided, Mrs. Bailey is survived by two granddaughters, Linda and Jeanelle, both of Bloomsburg and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Troy Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Herbert Punchard officiated and burial was in the Granville Cemetery.
