Mausoleum is in serious need of repair. Outside appears to be intact however the years and weather has taken its toll on the inside. Main iron gates are rusted & unlockable (secured with chain & padlock), wooden doors won't close, lock and are peeling, stained glass dome has 2 pieces of glass missing allowing the weather in, ceiling & decorative moulding is crumbling and at least 2 crypts (Charles & his wife Louise) fronts are broken & lying on the floor, exposing their caskets. It appears that the current generation of this family has no interest or respect for their ancestors as nothing has been done to keep this grand old mausoleum in any kind of repair.

1860 US Federal Census shows family living in 2nd Ward, Columbus, Ohio. Charles occupation - hardware manufacturer, wife Louise - keeping house. Value of real estate $36,000, personal estate 24,000.

1880 US Federal Census shows family living at 258 Earl Street, Columbus, Ohio. Charles occupation - coal merchant, wife Lousie - keeping house. Six Children - Florence age 20, Bell age 17, Lillie age 14, Edith age 12, Daisy age 10 and only son Leverett age 6. Household had 2 servants.
