LOUIS IVO HAMILTON, 84, Springfield, died March 8, 2007, at his home. Born March 15, 1922, in Washington County, Hamilton was a farmer and member of St. Rose Catholic Church. He was a United States Army Combat Veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph Edward and Imelda Gootee Hamilton; a daughter, Theresa Elaine Hamilton; six brothers, Joseph, J.A., Charles W., Marvin, Paul V. and Richard Hamilton; three sisters, Hattie Hamilton, Cecilia Blandford and Rose Medley. Survivors include: his wife, Kathleen Greenwell Hamilton of Springfield; two sons, Jerry Hamilton of Bardstown and Donnie Hamilton, of Springfield; seven daughters, Marilyn Carrico of Louisville, Sharon Hosek of Rocky River, Ohio, Janice Smith of Springfield, Arlene Brady of Elizabethtown, Kateri Mudd of Springfield, Peggy Thomas of Simpsonville and Angela Medley of Springfield; a brother, Robert "Sport" Hamilton of Springfield; two sisters, Pauline O'Daniel of Springfield and Rita Perkins of Indianapolis, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held March 13 at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery. Rev. Stephen Dominic Hayes, O.P., and Rev. James Murray, O.P., officiated. Pallbearers were Ryan and Craig Hamilton, Mason Carrico, Brian Avon, Tony Smith, Brandon Brady, Blake Thomas and Kyle Medley. Honorary pallbearers were Joy Guillaume, Dana Kuhn, Jillian Carrico, Matt Avon, Eric Hamilton, Chris, Austin and Evan Smith, Nathanael Brady, Miranda Pike, Carrie Brady, Tracy Wright, Renee Mudd, Wesley and Megan Thomas and Amber Medley. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home, Springfield, was in charge of the arrangements.
