Portland - A Gertrude Hoover, 94, of St. Joseph's Manor died Thursday after a long illness.
She was born in Palouse, Wash., a daughter of Raleigh and Iola Asbury Gray. She was a homemaker and nutritionist. She lived at the Manor since 1976 and formerly resided in Gorham and Los Angeles, Calif.
Her husband, Ray Watt Hoover, died in 1959.
She is survived by one brother, Harold M. Gray; one sister, Goldie Hopkins; two daughters-in-law, Marie Hoover of South Portland and Evelyn Hoover of Spokane, Wash.; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be annouced at a later date. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
