Rites Are Held For Long-Time Merced Rancher
MERCED - Funeral services for Walter Phillip Roduner, 72, a Merced County cattleman and rancher for 55 years, were held today in the Mission Chapel of Ivers & Alcorn. Entombment was in the Evergreen Mausoleum. Roduner, son of John A. and Harriet Roduner who came to the Merced area in the 1860's, was a lifelong resident of Merced. He served in the Navy during World War I. He was a member of the Yosemite Masonic Lodge, San Jose Consistory Scottish Rite Bodies, Fresno Tehran Temple, Merced-Mariposa Horsemans, and the Merced County Farm Bureau. He was also a past president of the Merced County Oldtimers Association. Surviving are his widow, Rachel; two daughters, Mrs. Janet M. Hayes of Carmichael and Mrs. Joan H. Bailey of Cottonwood; three sons, W. Phil Roduner Jr. and Richard R. Roduner of Merced and Lloyd S. Roduner of Chowchilla; a sister, Mrs. May Blauert of Merced; three brothers, C. Roscoe Roduner and Elmer Roduner of Merced and Robert Roduner of North Sacramento and 14 grandchildren. The family requests that any memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.
