Rosanna Cherry
Mrs. Rosanna Cherry, 91, 1215 N. Cambria St., Bellwood, died Wednesday afternoon, March 18, 1998, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone, following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 3, 1906, in Sandy Ridge, the daughter of Stephen M. and Annie M. (Davis) Burns. She married Raymond A. Cherry Oct. 10, 1924, in Tyrone. He died June 20, 1973.
Mrs. Cherry was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood, where she was a member of the Sunshine Bible Sunday school class and served as treasurer of the Sunday school for 40 years.
She was a 50-year member of the Tyrone Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Cherry enjoyed crafts and playing games.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty R. Shirk of Bellwood; a sister, Elva Ross of Bellwood; four grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
CHERRY -- Services for Rosanna Cherry of 1215 N. Cambria St., Bellwood, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, by her grandson, Pastor Donald A. Shirk, and the Rev. Norman Huff. Interment at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Surviving are grandchildren: Linda A. Andrzejewski of Morrisville, Beverly C. Frizelle of Nelson, New Zealand, Pastor Donald A. Shirk of Batavia, N.Y., and Evelyn J. Jelsma of Lakewood, Colo.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sisters: Mary DeRemer, Lucy Sigle, Lola Bricker and Roby Ricketts.
