Mrs. Martha Ann Roberts, wife of James Roberts, died at the home of her daughter, Miss Jane Roberts, West Franklin street, Waynesburg, Saturday, December 3, aged 66 years. She had been an invalid for several years. Mrs. Roberts was a daughter of John and Mary Fordyce Cooper, and was born May 24, 1866, in Center township. In 1888 she was united in marriage with James Roberts and they had resided near Rutan until two months ago when they removed to Waynesburg to spend the winter with their daughter. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Rogersville Methodist Protestant church. Besides her husband she leaves five children, Mrs. Myrtle Knisely, Jefferson; Mrs. Rhetta Gump, Clyde and Miss Jane Roberts, Waynesburg, and Asa Roberts, Rogersville. Two sisters, Mrs. Hannah Cole, of Brave, and Mrs. Orpha Woods, of near Bristoria, and one brother, Mason Cooper, of Bluff, also survive. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, in the Rogersville M. P. church, conducted by the Rev. T. M.Gladden. Interment in Rosemont cemetery.
