Nola Harp Thacker, 83, of Paris died Wednesday, May 31, 2006.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Harp officiating. Burial follows in Shady Grove Cemetery.

The Family receives friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was the seventh child of 10 born to William Rosco "Ross" Harp and Clara Ethel Porter. As a young woman she lived with her parents in McIntosh and Muskogee County, Oklahoma. She married Joe W. Thacker in Muskogee County on Nov. 5, 1938. To this union was born three children, Shirley Jo, Peggy Joyce and Robert "Bob" Thacker. In 1943 this young family moved to Borger, where they made their home until retirement. She retired from the Texas School System, where she worked in the cafeteria, in 1977. They moved to Paris in 1982, and have been residents of this city since that time. She is a long-time member of the Baptist faith and a member of Ramseur Baptist Church in Paris.

Her parents and seven siblings preceded her in death: her father, March 6, 1967; her mother, Feb. 14, 1975; a sister, Florine, October 1963; five brothers, Kenneth, January 1966, Bill, December 1967, Roy, August 1982, Ed, July 1988 and Homer, April 2000; another sister, Essie, January 2006; and one grandson, Michael Wayne Murphy, on Jan. 3, 1963.

She leaves her three children, Shirley Hartman of Paris, Peggy Mitchell of Midlothian and her son, Robert "Bob" Thacker of Iron Station, N.C. to mourn her passing. She has two sons-in-law, Eldon Hartman of Paris and Weldon Mitchell of Midlothian; one brother, A. R. Harp of Fritch; one sister, Betty Rogers of Borger. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

Pallbearers are Richard Anderson, Danny Anderson, Zachary Holcomb, Sean McIntire, Eric Nelson and Mark Martin.
