DIED. Panther [sic] McIlvain died at his residence in Hensley Township, on last Friday morning of inflammation of the brain. He was buried on Saturday, Rev. George B. Young, of Indianapolis, preached his funeral.

Marriage record reads: But remember that on the 28th day March A.D. 1845 the following marriage license was issued to wit. Johnson county, Indiana to wit. To any person legally authorized to solemnize marriage in said county. Greetings, you are hereby empowered to join together in Holly banns of matrimony Mr. Panter Mcelvin and Miss Rachel A Evans and for so doing this shall be your sufficient warrant. Witness Isaac Jones Clerk of the Johnson Circuit Court and the Seal therefore here unto affixed at my Office in Franklin this 28th day of March A.D. 1845 Isaac Jones Clk.

I do hereby certify that I joined together in the hands of matrimony Mr. Panter Mcelvain and Miss Rachel Amanda Evans in the 3rd according to your orders. Jesse Wells Minister of Gospel Recorded June 6th 1845
