Joseph Henry Farrow, 83, retired glassworker and resident of 349 Mt. Vernon Road , died at 4;45 p.m. Friday in Newark Hospital. He was admitted there Thursday.
A native of Martinsburg, W.Va., he was born Sept. 15, 1869, the son of Harry and Jane Farrow. His widow the former Amelia Ettie Smith, survives; two sons, William L. Farrow and Joseph H Farrow both of Newark, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Layland of Newark and Mrs. F. H. Mullenix of Akron; also 12 grand children and nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Deedham and Mrs. Anna Quinn both of Columbus, and Mrs. Charles Clinesmith of Newark. A sister and three brothers are deceased.
Mr. Farrow who retired Jan. 1 1951, spent 50 years as a glassworker. He startedd with the E.H. Everett Co., and was with the Amercian Bottle Co., the Owens-Illinois and the Fiberglas Corporation.
A member of the Moose Lodge, he was also a member of the 25 year club of Fiberglas and the Forester Lodge.
Funeral services will be held at 2p.m. Monday in the home, with the Rev. Evan D. Jones officiating and burial will be made in Wilson Cemetery. The body will be returned to the home late Saturday afternoon from the C. T. Egan & Son Funeral Home.
