Services for O.D. Birdwell was held at the Bryson Church of Christ with J.R. Waldrum, minister of the Eastside Church of Christ in Graham officiating.

Mr. Birdwell was a veteran of World War I. He was a barber in Bryson and Graham for a number of years. The location of his shops can be easily found. His father, John Birdwell, and his uncle, Reuel Birdwell came to Jack County in 1881. They were partners in the Birdwell general store for several years in Bryson, Texas. Pictures of the store suggest it was near downtown Bryson. Those pictures show the building was two-story and may have had the first elevator in the town. Old receipts and ledger books show that had a good business in the town and in Jack county. The couple lived in Bryson. He was a member of the Bryson Church of Christ.

Survived by his wife - Mrs. Nora E. Birdwell; two sons - J.W. Birdwell and Oliver D. Birdwell.
