Calvin Coolidge McAlister, 76, of 100 Maria Drive, Anderson, died Friday, March 3, 2000 at Anderson Medical Center.
Born in Anderson, he was a retired home builder and developer, a member of the Anderson Home Builder's Association and a life member of the Pendelton Masonic Lodge number 34. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a member of the Zion United Metodist Church.
Surviving are widow, Louise Moore McAlister of the home: son, Joe McAlister of Anderson: daughters, Judy Whitfield of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jan Reynolds of Anderson: brothers, the Rev. Hugh McAlister and Charles McAlister, both of Anderson: sisters, Evelyn Coster of Taylors and Eunice Aiken, Catherine Taylor and Betty McLees, all of Anderson: four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was the son of the late Paul T. McAlister and Eva Black McAlister. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Gene, Paul, Clarence McAlister.
Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at The McDougald Funeral Home by the Revs. Mel Arant and Dan Batson: burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family is at the home.
The family suggest memorials be made to the Zion United Methodist Church, 5708 S.C. 187, Anderson, South Carolina 29625.
