Mrs. Eva Black McAlister, 81 , of Route 2 Pearman Dairy Road, died Monday morning at Anderson Memorial Hospital following three years of declining health.
She was a native of Anderson County, a daughter of the late William and Jane C. Black. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Paul T. McAlister of the home; seven sons, Paul McAlister of Williamston, Clarence, Calvin, Gene, Charles and the Rev. Hugh McAlister, of Anderson, James McAlister of Columbia; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Coster of Greenville, Mrs. Eunice Aiken, Mrs. Catherine Taylor, Mrs. Betty Rowland of Anderson; a brother, Guy Black of Six Mile; a sister, Mrs. Lucy Bruce of Liberty; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church by the Rev. W. C. Hudson and the Rev. Charles B. Dockins. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hoyt Taylor, Joe McAlister, Douglas McAlister, Jerry McAlister, Larry McAlister and Gerald McAlister.
The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family is at the residence.
