The son of James Thomas Blankenship and Anna Fayette Norris Blankenship, he was born March 22, 1911, at East Peoria. He married Mildred Sawyer October 21, 1933, at Peoria.
Mr. Blankenship was employed by Western Gear Corp in Belmont, Cal. for 14 years, retiring in 1975. Until seven weeks ago, he worked as a Lincoln School crossing guard for the East Peoria police.
He was a member of the International Association of Machinists, Lodge #68, and he attended Faith United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Stephen of Washington; one daughter, Mrs. Jim (Janet) Koch of East Peoria; two bothers, Harold of West Peoria, and Alfred of Hayward, CA.; one sister, Mrs. Lillian J. Stephens of San Lorenzo, CA.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Fondulac cemetery.
