Gertrud W. Sports, 83, of Perry, Fla., died Friday (Jan. 22, 2010). A native of Mannheim, Germany, she lived in Perry since 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of Center Street Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James E. Sports.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Connell (Gene), of Perry; four grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
The funeral was scheduled for today at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Perry, Fla. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
