Paul Childers, 46, died Wednesday, January 7, in Kettering Medical Center in Dayton, OH after an extended illness. He was the son of John and Elsie Bowling Childers, who survive, and was born December 10, 1929 in Kentucky. A resident of Dayton, he was employed by Masonry Company. Also surviving are his wife, Melda Welch Childers, five sons, Paul Ray, Michael, Danny, Johnny, and Timmy, all at home; a daughter, Sheri Childers at home; three brothers, Arthur of Kentucky, Walter and Clyde both of Dayton, six sisters, Pearl Williams and Evelyn Beckett, both of WV, Lillian Meek of Dayton, Bee Pack of Whitehouse, Belva Jo Whitt of Kentucky and Annett Stambaugh of Columbus, OH. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 11, in the Hammond Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends Clyde Bowling and Charles Wiley officiating. Burial was in the Son Butcher Cemetery at Whitehouse with Jones-Preston Funeral Home officiating. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, January 14, 1976
