Mrs. Ida O. Parkhurst, 79, Eldon, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 1981, at Charles E. Still Hospital in Jefferson City. She spent nearly her entire life in Miller County. She was born Nov. 23, 1901, at Tuscumbia to Hastings and Agnes Agnew Burks. In 1919 she was married at Tuscumbia to Robert Dell Parkhurst, who died March 2, 1958.

Mrs. Parkhurst was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church.

Survivors are, a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Hendricks, Eldon; three sons, James and Johnny Parkhurst, both of Eldon, and Bobby Parkhurst, Linn; a brother, Arthur Burks, Tuscumbia; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Abbott, Eldon, and Mrs. Mary Eichoff, Mexico, Mo.; and 15 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home.
